Terms of Service
Effective Date: June 8, 2026 · Last Updated: June 8, 2026
Welcome to the MedEdPrep EMS Study Assistant ("the Service"), an AI study tool available at chat.mededprep.tech, operated by MedEdPrep, LLC, a Georgia limited liability company ("MedEdPrep," "we," "us," or "our").
The Service is currently offered as a free educational beta. By entering an access code and using the Service, you affirmatively agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Not medical advice. The EMS Study Assistant is an educational tool only. Its answers are generated by AI from EMS textbooks and may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. It is not medical advice, not clinical guidance, and not a substitute for your training, your program's curriculum, current local protocols, or your medical director. Never use this tool to make patient-care decisions. In an emergency, call your local emergency number.
1. Description of the Service
The Service is an AI-powered study assistant for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) education. It provides:
- Chat — Ask EMS questions and receive answers drawn from a library of EMS textbooks (EMT through Critical Care), with citations to the source book, chapter, and page.
- Quiz generation — Generate practice questions on a topic from the same source material.
The Service does not require you to create an account or provide your name. Access during the beta is controlled by a shared access code. You select a general role (such as "EMT student") so we can understand how the tool is used; this is self-declared and not verified.
Pricing: The Service is currently provided free of charge. MedEdPrep reserves the right to introduce paid features or change the Service in the future. We will provide reasonable advance notice before any pricing change that would affect continued use.
2. Eligibility
The Service is intended for EMS students, instructors, and professionals who are at least 16 years of age. It is not directed to children. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
3. Acceptable Use
Use the Service only for legitimate EMS education and study. You agree not to:
- Enter personal, identifying, or patient information — Do not type names, contact details, student identifiers, or any patient information (including Protected Health Information as defined under HIPAA) into questions, quiz topics, or feedback. The Service is not HIPAA-compliant and no Business Associate Agreement is in place. Note that the text you submit is (a) saved in our own server logs to power answer caching, and (b) separately sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to generate the answer. See the Privacy Policy.
- Share or misuse access — Do not share the access code in violation of any instruction we give, or use it to disrupt the Service for others.
- Scrape, overload, or attack the Service — Do not use automated tools to extract content, attempt to bypass rate limits or access controls, or interfere with the Service's infrastructure or security.
- Redistribute source content — Do not copy or redistribute the underlying textbook content, citations, platform code, or design outside of the Service.
- Rely on it for patient care — Do not use the Service to make or guide clinical or patient-care decisions (see the medical-advice notice above).
- Violate applicable law — Do not use the Service in any way that violates federal, state, or local law.
We may investigate misuse and suspend or revoke access at any time.
4. Not Medical Advice
The Service is for educational study only. Answers are generated by artificial intelligence and are not a substitute for professional medical judgment, formal EMS training, your program's curriculum, current clinical protocols, or the direction of a licensed medical director. Clinical practice, protocols, medication dosing, and standards of care vary by jurisdiction and change over time. Always verify any information against your current local protocols and authoritative sources before relying on it. MedEdPrep is not responsible for any decision made in reliance on the Service.
5. AI-Generated Content
You acknowledge and agree that:
- Answers and quiz questions are generated by AI from source textbooks and may contain factual errors, omissions, outdated references, or fabricated ("hallucinated") information.
- Citations are provided to help you verify answers against the source material — you should check them.
- The Service does not guarantee that any answer is accurate, complete, current, or appropriate for your situation.
- You are solely responsible for verifying any information before relying on it for study, testing, or any other purpose.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service — including its software, design, and original content — is owned by MedEdPrep, LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The underlying EMS textbooks and other source materials remain the property of their respective publishers and authors; they are referenced for educational purposes. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal educational purposes only, and you may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from its content without permission.
If you provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas about the Service, you grant MedEdPrep a non-exclusive, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, modify, and incorporate that feedback for any purpose, without obligation or compensation to you.
7. Privacy
Our collection and use of information is described in our Privacy Policy. In brief: we do not collect your name and we do not require an account. We record usage anonymously (an app-generated session ID and your self-declared role), and we store the questions you ask, the answers generated, and any feedback you give, in order to operate and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the Privacy Policy.
8. Service Availability
The Service is a free beta. We make no guarantees regarding uptime, availability, or uninterrupted, error-free operation. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice, and without liability to you.
Force Majeure
MedEdPrep shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performance due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, cyberattacks, third-party service provider failures, government actions, or interruptions in internet service.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE EDUCATIONAL CONTENT IS ACCURATE OR ERROR-FREE, NOR SHOULD THE SERVICE BE CONSIDERED A SUBSTITUTE FOR OFFICIAL CERTIFICATION EXAM PREPARATION MATERIALS, CLINICAL TRAINING, OR MEDICAL DIRECTION.
10. Limitation of Liability
You acknowledge that MedEdPrep provides the Service free of charge and in reliance on the limitations of liability and disclaimers of warranties set forth herein, which form an essential basis of the bargain between the parties.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEDEDPREP AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, including loss of data, loss of academic progress, certification exam outcomes, or any harm resulting from reliance on content provided through the Service.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100 USD) OR THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations. In those jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MedEdPrep, LLC, its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party. This obligation does not apply to the extent a claim arises from MedEdPrep's gross negligence or willful misconduct.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" above and make reasonable efforts to note the change in the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Dispute Resolution
Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute proceeding, you agree to first contact us at support@mededprep.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 60 days.
Binding Arbitration
If we cannot resolve a dispute informally, you and MedEdPrep agree to resolve any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service through final and binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will be conducted remotely to the extent possible, or in Georgia if an in-person hearing is required.
Class Action Waiver
YOU AND MEDEDPREP AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN YOUR OR ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING.
Small Claims Exception
Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court for disputes within the court's jurisdictional limits.
Opt-Out Right
You may opt out of this arbitration agreement and class action waiver by sending written notice to support@mededprep.com within 30 days of first using the Service. Your notice must include a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, disputes will be resolved in accordance with Section 14 (Governing Law).
14. Governing Law and Venue
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. For disputes not subject to arbitration, any legal action shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Georgia.
15. General Provisions
- Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and MedEdPrep, LLC regarding the Service.
- Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect.
- No Waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision does not waive it.
- Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms. MedEdPrep may assign its rights and obligations in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
